Somewhere between a radio drama and a chamber orchestra piece, this is a score written to a pulp detective story with accompanying narration.

I wrote it as I was listening to the story for the first time, and the parts were largely improvised.

I wrote this on the morning of November 4th. I wanted it to have a live, chamber ensemble feel so I did no post processing, everything you hear is how the microphone heard it. I also left in the numerous mistakes I made. I'm not very good at the clarinet and it shows in this work. Big thanks to LibriVox and Dan Gurzynski for the narration, which adds so much to this work.
